New AD Accounts are Not Importing Into Okta

New AD accounts are not importing into Okta

Applies To

  1. Active Directory (AD)

  2. New User

  3. Imports

Cause

The import is skipping the user because they are missing one of four required attributes needed to create an Okta user from AD.  These required attributes are:

  1. First name

  2. Last name

  3. Email

  4. Username (in the form of an email address)

Resolution

  1. Query System Log for 
    eventType eq "system.agent.ad.import_user" and outcome.result eq "SKIPPED"

  2. Expand skipped entries

  3. The missing required attribute can be identified under Outcome > Reason
